The Ottoman Empire was a multicultural empire, with Turks, Greeks, Romanians, Arabs, and others in powerful positions.

As time went on, the Ottoman Empire became more technologically sophisticated compared to Western Europe.

The center of the Ottoman Empire was in Turkey, and at its height the Empire ruled over Greece, Serbia, Egypt, and most of the Arab world.

Other multi-ethnic empires, like the Austro-Hungarian empire, did not want Greeks and Serbs to revolt from the Ottomans.

I’m doing a report on the Turkish National movement. It’s a argumentive report on how Turkey should have it’s own republic, and not be partitioned with the rest of the Ottoman Empire, but I need more background information on what was happening with the Ottoman Empire in order to make more sense of this. My ottoman is rather large, about 21" by 26" and matches the chair and sofa. I have my coffee table in front of the sofa (not sure the size of the coffee table but it is rather large).

I would think that the Ottoman Empire had a strained relationship with Christian Europe. On the history maps, I notice that, during major times of change in Europe (particularly during the French Revolution), the Ottoman Empire’s borders remain relatively the same place.

How did the Ottomans interact with the rest of Europe? Did Europe isolate them because they were Muslims, or did they have a good relationship?
